[Case Study] Sage Culture Co.

Bringing the fun to building a business!

Snapshot of Sage Culture Co.

Meet Brandi, founder & Sage Culture Co’s head human.

She has made it her mission to help teams with the tools, and permission to thrive, collaborate and have fun. The tipping point to starting her own business was that passion. She experienced other organizations lacking empathetic leadership, and wanted to help them build stronger teams.

Brandi did have the inkling to start her own business… eventually. However, the moment felt serendipitous as she jumped at the opportunity to work with one of her favorite authors. After choosing to go all in (while still continuing to work full time in her current role) Brandi found herself completely overwhelmed. She wasn’t sure where to start, how to start, or when she’d find the time to start.

How SBC Helped Launch Sage Culture Co.

Before officially applying to the Small Business Cultivator, Brandi purchased the Expert Evaluation as she knew it would be the best place to start and get feedback. But, unlike those cute “What type of entrepreneur are you?” quizzes you find on Buzzfeed, this questionnaire asked pivotal questions about how she would transform herself as a business owner.

Since she hadn’t formally started the business yet, Brandi felt like she was lost and stuck in answering a bulk of the questions, causing her to overthink her situation.

In truth: she was indeed the perfect fit because she had clarity in what she wanted to accomplish, rather than knowing the specific ins-and-outs of business ownership. The Small Business Cultivator could help Brandi set up a solid foundation for what she was wanting to accomplish with the help of industry experts that would support her the entire way.

Which Part of the Program was Most Successful?

Brandi admitted that it was a struggle to choose one aspect of the program where had felt the most success. (We’d like to believe this speaks to the value of the program!) Overall, it was the excitement and support she received from every team member during each stage of the program. She loved having someone by her side, cheering her on!

Like other SBC clients, we included all seven aspects of the program to get Sage Culture Co. up and running:

  • Brand Core

  • Brand design

  • Systems and automations

  • Website design

  • Marketing and social media

  • Finances and bookkeeping

What Life Looks Like After the Launch

Since launching Sage Culture Co., Brandi admits that she’d do it all again simply to relive the joy. (Go team!) Beyond SBC, her focus continues to be in the three pillars of her business:

  1. Training and workshops to help teams lay the groundwork for the people-first culture.

  2. Keynote speaking, emceeing events and general vibe setting.

  3. Creating and organizing leadership content

(We also hooked Brandi up with a branded bandana for all of her outdoor excursions, so she can forever represent Sage Culture Co!)

Having that amount of knowledge, expertise, and care at my fingertips absolutely SLING SHOT me into business ownership.
